Hey Pete,
Notice that you have given book reviews on Amazon, and wondered if you would consider reading (free of course) a download of my book, The Killer Show? It’s the 1st book in the Simone Biaz Series and was published on Amazon as an ebook 2017.
Genres and sub:
Women Sleuths
Cozy Suspense
Women’s Fiction
Blurb:
The audience hears a deadly scream and assumes it’s the on-stage ventriloquist, Simone Biaz throwing her voice. Until a body is found back stage. Earlier, Simone is startled when a street teen, Pepper says she has found a new-born in a dumpster. The two of them rescue the infant. Pepper is a significant second story line in this book. The troubled teen, though a challenge, keeps showing up in Simone’s life and then disappearing, as Simone follows clues to the killer. Much of the setting takes place in a creepy old theater with a hidden room. Simone throws her voice to ward off assault, and to solve the mystery. Complications include Simone’s claustrophobia, a father who tries to keep her under his thumb, a wacky romance, as well as her heart going out to the homeless teen. But the ending will surprise you.
As you can see, I haven’t pushed for reviews.
Thank you for your consideration.
Judy
Hi, Kristen: sorry for the long delay. I have been unwell for quite some time and unable to write. Add to that, my website’s email hasn’t been working and I hadn’t noticed. I suspect you will have already found your blurb. If not, please email me and I’d be glad to help, if I’m too late, I wish you every success with your novel… Pete
Hi, Laura: Thank you for writing. Poor health has blocked the way forward for some time, but I’m pleased to say I am slowly climbing back onto Maya’s Vision Road. I’m wary of putting a delivery date on something that has churned for so long, but I do have 75% written, so I hope 2019 will be the magic year :-). Thank you for your patience… Pete
Hi!
When will Book 2 come out for Maya?
Dear Mr. Barber,
My name is Kristen Howe. On October 24th, I’ve sent you a blurb request and haven’t heard back from you. In case you didn’t receive it or landed in spam, I’m resending it back to you and hope to hear from you soon. If I don’t hear from you within a month, I assume the answer is still the same from when I’ve first asked you.
Dear Mr. Barber,
I’ve just finished editing my first adult eco-thriller, Venom. I would be honored, if I can get a blurb from you this fall, since I love your techno-thrillers. I admire how you give us plenty of suspense with a hint of drama. When I’m reading them, I’m at the edge of my seat. I’ve really enjoyed reading Nanostrike and hope to read more in the future.
Here’s a brief synopsis of my debut novel, Venom.
An infestation of deadly snakes hits Key West in a frenzied panic. For herpetologist Kylie Marx, she’s afraid she can’t save everyone in time with the ongoing anti-venom shortage. While she’s investigating a dozen slaughtered, endangered skinks, she knew a poacher was behind it. Kylie discovers this is the same poacher who left her for dead from a snake bite, twelve years ago; and if she doesn’t stop him and produce the anti-venom in time, his next victims won’t be so lucky.
I don’t have an agent or pub deal yet, but I do have agent and small publisher interest. I have 6 full requests and 3 Revise and Resubmits total, including 3 partials. I would like to thank you in advance for your time and patience for reading Venom. Do you prefer an attachment or a hard copy?
Sincerely,
Kristen Howe
(Since there’s no other means to contact you, I thought I should do it via here if it’s okay.)

Any word on when the next book in the MAYA series will be out. I keep finding myself looking for it, more than any other series, and have high hopes to find it soon.
Just completed Maya and loved it. I don’t get a lot of time to read for pleasure so tend to be picky. I loved this story. It captured me from the first chapter. Just letting you know how much I appreciated a good read.
“La fiction est le mensonge par lequel nous disons la vérité.” (“Fiction is the lie through which we tell the truth.”)
Can you tell me where this appears in print, or when and where it was said by Albert Camus?
Hi Mr. Barber.
I was just wondering if Nanostrike is going to end up being a series or if it will be a stand-alone novel?
Hi, Dave. I’m delighted you enjoyed NanoStrike. Thank you for dropping by and making my head swell :-). . . Pete
5 stars for Nano Strike. Pete is brilliant new author to me and one I shall watch for in the future
